Why have the Black-Tailed Godwits Disappeared from RSPB Belfast Harbour Reserve

Now I have the Harbor Belfast RSPB reserve not long ago a couple of times, and I find it very depressing and talks to me and volunteer birdwatchers, I’m not alone. Some birders have told me recently that it no longer worth more and if they feel it is the social aspect and not the birding. Used to go and was almost always black-tailed godwits in front of the skin, and I mean loads, have been one of the main attractions of the reserve. The good thing was that when the power of black-tailed godwits feeding many different types of shorebirds under or on the edge of these herds. Therefore, chances are would Ruff, Curlew, snipe, redshank, whimbrel and Common Sandpiper. The largest herd of Godwit’ve seen recently and the White House Laggoon on the other side of Belfast Lough, as I have found a better source of food. Now he feels as if his desert. Vanguard of the skin was not a large patch of grass in about four feet high and stay on the right side of the skin, is a row of willows along a wall to keep about two to three meters. The birds mainly willow cane protects writers, robins, finches and tits. The willows also provided cover for the waterways. Most of the willows were cut from the skin and small footprint on the right side of the little protection from the growing area has been cleared. See photos below. Why should someone remove the habitat of these small animals from a hawk, who regularly flies over I know, but not protect. It’s been a year since the RSPB suspended and then dismissed Anthony McGeehan, as the director and I’m afraid it shows. On a positive point of his industrial tribunal on 8 March and will be asked again his work, compensation and an apology and the sooner the better in my eyes. At least he had the right idea when you bring the birds close to the skin, the audience participates with them much better than one through binoculars or scope across the reservation, where many water birds at the castle high tide Belfast Lough. So definitely it’s time to feed back regularly as sporadic. On two occasions recently I saw a fox walking hide Infront of the plant and the last time I was there one of the occupants of the skin, he said he had seen in recent weeks. So even if the RSPB is not urgent any objection to the reproductive success of breeding birds in the reserve list will be effectively challenged, and this is after a thousand pounds for a predator-proof fence. In the early years, the RSPB funded program administered by Groundwork NI Alfa replace a lock, which controls water levels on the reserve list. Why this was necessary, I’m not sure how they worked, Anthony was suspended until early January 2009, I had a problem in the summer, which was corrected. Then, the RSPB is more or less the reserve for a few months left until the introduction of a former supervisor to help a few months. The idea of the lock, control over the level that I wonder why allow most of the fall, water levels were too high and there was a distinct lack of waterfowl. Why should we be in a lock, if not to be used properly? In my opinion, the management of RSPB reserves in Northern Ireland is clearly insufficient. Look at Belfast Harbor in the summer, he hired a job advertisement for a new Director and Chris Sturgeon. He had little experience with conservation, mainly in construction, in Australia or as a waiter in France, but had worked as a grain of volunteers working with Anthony on the reservation. Now I think Chris is working hard and has an almost impossible task of having to follow the steps McGeehan had to, but there was considerable unrest among workers RSPB in Northern Ireland, especially some of the contracts with the RSPB, which for publicity work, but would do it again in my opinion, unless your boss (Gregory Woulahan, CPM). The announcement for the job in the paper saying: “Knowledge about the birds is an advantage but not essential. My God, what idiot put an ad in the role of a director of the renowned RSPB reserve probably saying Northern Ireland the benefit of the birds but not essential. I had an interesting exchange in Fermanagh at the end of January along with chef Chris. I was photographing a fire in the morning and shot one of the weapons of a mink swimming in a river. I did not witness it, but I was at lunch had been in discussion with the drivers and one of them started the mink and the way that last summer there was a great clamor and panic in the RSPB in Northern Ireland as this guy in a blog written about the mink RSPB Fermanagh drown in your reservation. Do not let the it was me, this driver did not work best friends in and out of the RSPB and beater told me the manager had reservations and told all the world, completely denied the charges and has contacted the supervisor who was in possession of a year off on an island in the Southern Ocean, with bowed head. It only confirms what we already knew. When I got home, I I yelled to my wife, who works at Belvoir, and were sent very reluctant to nothing more than Mike Clarke, director of operations spoke of the RSPB, in a letter to employees say they do not discuss Belvoir, Anthony McGeehan, or related issues to anyone . But fortunately, blood is thicker. Woulahan I have said it was in the old brine right about it. He also told me there was not very popular ;-) As I said to them: They would wonder if Woulahan truth in the industry by Anthony Court, said it is highly unlikely, since too busy to protect themselves at the expense of others and who said it was likely to be moved elsewhere within the RSPB, the better, as which is much bad blood at Belvoir on him and everyone also fear their jobs to say anything.
