Killard Nature Reserve in May

I like Killard Nature Reserve. Below is an aerial photograph taken by photographer Mike Hartwell Eye of the North. Showing Killard halfway between high and low tides, but also highlights the close last Portaferry and Strangford Strangford Strangford itself. Killard Peninsula is landlocked. I stay all year round sun, rain, wind or snow. Now, snow is very rare. But this time of year I expect the margin. All the flowers start to appear again, usually for health primroses dog violet, Spring Squill and orchids. There PrimrosesSpring SquillHeath VioletThriftAs dog and flowers is also passing through returning migrants, whether as curlew, Stoves and alpine racers beach, or staying there, as the white race Gorges. The air with the song of the lark is full, the curlew call, the warbler sings in the hedges. In small, a fantastic time of year. White throat seems less about Stonechat, which seems to be the general conclusion from all over Ireland, probably due to harsh winter. This is a pair of which may be the man photographed quite easily. Male days StonechatSome other bricks may lose one or two. I find it very hard to approach him. WheatearOver recent months, one thing I noticed was the large number of shells of Brown and White-lipped mouth, at the foot of the rock kaput. It was not until I met Brian in Black (UTV Environment Correspondent) questioned me if I had ever seen, all the shocks of how he wanted to film it. I had to say, I’d, T. I see from time to time, Blackbird weird out there, but only the song thrush, that these rocks used to break the shell. They are called thrush anvils. Thrush AnvilAt the back of the left end of the beach gives you a rock face that when my children were still young have used for breeding fulmars but unfortunately long gone. There is a small colony of Sand Martin, and for many years a pair of ravens bred here. In the last two years I have found Raven corpses on the ground, but this year seems to have been most successful genuine five boys who are nearly ow are, see below. I had no thought there was a fantastic clutch and now I reckon in recent years that some of the boys pushed from the nest may have other more nefarious means than I expected. About Raven ChicksOn fledged across the peninsula from the beach, is usually one pair of Shelduck, which are reproduced in rabbits abandoned burrows can sometimes jar white of an egg that has no unquestionably it did in the nest to be found. It has an unusual texture very different from a chicken egg, I can only describe as more silky. Shelduck PairIt now is the time of year that all dogs go on the line for nesting birds, protect, and I hope the Quoile HSIL in the placement of signs is small to achieve it. Below is a Labrador, who delight in playing in the sea. KillardThe Labrador Northern Ireland Environment Agency will hold an event in Killard 27 I recommend going in June, where none existed before, because it is a place where the fab.
