Inishbofin Co.Galway in late May and a Golden Oriole
I just chose to Inishbofin on Sunday afternoon, I texted and told Anthony McGeehan still come and go I would. I have a text back to him, with 4:00 on the clock, what made me a small, as he had done some restoration work all day in the sun and I was tired moro. But, we and down, led to Galway. We were in a different way to my normal, which is slightly longer. We went over Omagh, Ederney, Belleek and Ballyshannon. In this way was a revelation, as the roads are brilliant to go this way than through Enniskillen to Sligo and BlackLion. We stopped at around 6:00 at Castle Caldwell Forest Park to see if he could see or hear any wood warbler. No luck only a few warblers and a squirrel. Sun from and after breakfast we went to Westport, with the remaining 40 miles to Cleggan to the ferry. It was a day unquestionably gorgeous with blue skies. The mountains of Connemara looked unquestionably gorgeous. Not much to see apart from on the road across the island over the Guillemots diving seagulls and a few as we approached. The next island to Fort Cromwell, at the entrance to Inishbofin Harbour, about 25 terns were sitting on it. We were collected by Paddy Joe, in whose house we were living under. Cottage Paddy Joe did a quick meal and then told her to take a nap before doing the line. Three hours later I woke up. It then headed east of the island, and saw the weird sedge warbler, some Stonechat, Wheatear, many of whom seemed to be the food of all young people. Dun na hinin We were where we saw fulmars and as we approach a jackdaw flew the closed position. FlightBy Chova in 00 ninth now was nearly back to the hut on the beach on the east side. There were few runners and eight beach Plover Alps, fantastic in the low evening light looked. Plover to light at night, we were right in the rear the cemetery, as I learned been Flycatcher flew my first day of the year and then when we returned to our cabin was Anthony Hawking others in the garden. After dinner and a few beers I slept until 9 30amIt once was a gorgeous sunny day with a slight breeze, but cool. Today we will go out to the western end of the island. Anthony was doing a weekend of bird surveillance in relation to the Dolphin Hotel for 12 people. and wanted a examination run of one of his trips and see what birds were about to do. So we went and drove for a food Wren is on the edge of the bay youth. Guillemot also was a small black on the port. When we were there were some wall and a peacock Brown on the economy. Wall Brown butterfly peacock butterflies in pinks we stopped at the hotel for a excellent Doonmore Bewleys coffee and butter cookies. As we sat outside the pastor came past application of cigarettes to its owner. Pastor coffee and a packet of Silk CutAfter the corncrake to try on the Farm by George Lacey, a few hundred meters further to see calls, but we could not see or hear. There were reports of two birds on the island of the nature of these and others at the opposite end of the island. We still Dun Mor promontory where thousands of years ago used to be a fortress. This takes you past one of the best beaches in Ireland, if not the best. One of the most gorgeous beaches in Ireland from the top of Dun morning you can see, fulmars nest on the cliff edge and a pair of magpies flying around. I’m not very excellent with a height of what was not willing to come to get images. I have this Fulmar. Dun mor Fulmar in view to the north-east of Dun is spectacular sake looks excellent on the islands of Inishturk, Clare and Achill Iceland Iceland. View from Dun mor address is Inishturk Clare and Achill IslandsHere considers the revision of Dun and mor Inishshark of the large rock in the picture privileged than. Look to the past mor Dun Inishshark This area had numerous Plover nesting and although one of the marked trails around the island they were within walking distance of the range. We saw the tourists spend their way, and away from each other from the feet seemed to be removed from the nest, none of the tourists know. Plover Nest Redwing We came to this body, which was probably one of the thousands of people who were on the west coast of Ireland during the cold winter we had seen recently. Corpse Redwing continue in our walk and found a couple of beach that were probably breeding, but extremely hard to be with you. When we returned to Lough Bofin got there is a further river corridors and five pairs of lapwing breed after that it was the end of the island. The lake itself was a mute swan nest on a small island, which had been in previous years, a breeding ground for terns. Some were in Mallard, but not much else. At last we have in the shelter of the fifth after 30pm and a cup of tea I went to take a nap. As soon as I had to take a nap on it a blow to my door with Anthony said he believed he had seen an oriole. He also ran, which had been flying and how he flew round the corner into the harbor. I have some pictures, but they were small points, as it was flying to the sun were hardly evident. We followed finally a small willow grove near the harbor and at a distance a few more shots. Unfortunately, hadnt noticed my fStop F14 most of the recordings became very blurry. Running away Oriol Well, I was really pleased to see an oriole in Ireland and in fastidious to “Bofin. I had seen in Italy and in Suffolk, but I never thought it would be in Ireland. The bird was very silent and went from one side pasture before the running away back in the direction of the garden of Regina. flew beyond the Dolphin Hotel, and not see him again tonight. We went to look beyond the dolphins Grasshopper Warbler, calling numerous of which had. We saw a couple of times, but never enough to get a photo. One of my bogey birds. The next morning I woke up and realized that the ant was not there, so I keep a mind in the courtyard of one of the bedroom window and nearly immediately the Oriole flew to choose, but in a mulberry tree and departed. I waited and waited and then 25 minutes later, introduced himself and gave me a shot of that. oriole in Regina Garden then departed and a minute later appeared in a further part of the jungle and I got it. So the patch of trees in the rear the garden flying. oriole in the Garden of Regina was excellent that she was still here, as some ornithologists were seen in the subsequent. We went to meet them from the ferry and held at the cemetery to have a look at the way they flew and when we arrived. Unfortunately, when we show all the areas that have had to do was to everyplace. After a while we said and they update time again in the cemetery. We went to the airport to see how the wombs were there covering only two pairs and find a small number of Plover. I climbed to the top of the island to take some photos, only to learn that there were a lot of dust on my image sensor and not useful. We had the owner of the Hotel Dolphin, Pat and his wife Jackie was invited to a barbecue dinner that night becomes a real treat was. We had tasty steak and salad for outdoor seating. Her daughter, five years ancient, Ruby had a fantastic interest in my binoculars. After dinner I went to Dun na hinin side east of the island, get some photos of fulmars. I practically ran most of the few miles the sun was being paid lower in the sky and it was too late. But, I have photos of both Pilgrim and Fulmar in making sun. Fulmar at Sunset Click on picture to enlarge. Peregrino in Sunset I on my way back to the moon and looked worse in the night sky pink unquestionably gorgeous by the fact that I was on my foot Crocs and I thought it would be a shortcut through a swamp ompletely stuck. ’s to the top where my foot out and I had a free hand. I have never understood how hard the mob is to wash my feet wet. Inishbofin Productivity of the moon The next morning I went and took pictures of some heads of grain. Man Woman Stoves Stoves had a wonderful four days and wait a further week is in October, if not before. The islanders are very friendly and always give a wave to pass through or stop for a chat. The only thing I thought was a bit unnecessary was this sign on a door. Of course I had to take a picture. Since tourism plays an vital role in the economy island, it seems weird to see something like this in fact a small sad. We talked to a few islanders about who was terrible thought.
