I was asked by the American Museum of Natural History, mention my American readers that there are two upcoming events of birds in February and March this year. Poets and artists in a special Programat American Museum of Natural History in an evening dedicated to New Anthology of Poetry About Birds Illustrated connect poetry and part field guide of Bright Wings: an illustrated anthology of poems about birds, more than 100 poems of Elizabeth Bishop, Charles Simic, Sylvia Plath, Wallace Stevens, and others with carefully researched illustrations by renowned artist David Allen Sibley. Poet Laureate Billy Collins will join his compatriot the poet George Green, Joshua Mehigan, Linda Pastan, and David Yezzi museum in the poems of the anthology to celebrate with his own work connected. Artist and ornithologist David Allen Sibley will talk about his life like images. Joel Cracraft, curator of ornithology at the museum, the introduction of the program. Book signing to follow.
