A Weekend at Delphi Lodge Co.Mayo starring a Pair of Common Sandpiper and a Dipper
I just returned from a gorgeous weekend to Delphi Lodge in County Mayo. I went to my parents, who have in the past twenty years, just stayed in one of the Lodge of Delphi in the country in the last week of May and salmon. It’s one of my favorite places in Ireland. It is between Luis Bergh and Killary Harbour, and about twenty miles from Westport. The hostel is located in a valley between Lough Doo and Lough fin (which you can see privileged than, embedded) The view from below is looking north Finlough the valley. I was in tension to see and perhaps photograph Osa as I have not seen in recent years. After five hours of driving, I was just in time for dine with my parents outside their hut, which is simpler with a generous dose of Autan (mosquitoes Mata) Then I had a nap before it was to the river below of the house have done. He was one of those rare moments, to the west of Ireland, when the sky was blue, the sun hot. There were a number of sand flies and Martins Hawking Willow warblers were heard and reed warblers. I then noticed a small rocky beach in a fit, have to cross the river. ” Then I saw it was a girl that was very exciting and evidence of improvements in the area was. He soon flew out of sight and the parent company. Satisfied with what I saw, I made my way back to dinner with my parents and some acquaintances of theirs. The next morning the weather had returned, rain interspersed with bright spots. After a hearty Irish breakfast, I managed to take some pictures of the front of the Lake of the house was too silent mirror schooner. Here is a picture in black and white is to look the other way. I reckon Delphi Lodge would be a fantastic place to get people interested in a few days photographing landscapes. Then went to the river, and it was not long, long time I saw a car. Sorry, not close enough to photograph and then flew up the river, and I do not see him again. I went to Doolough and then back on the road. There were a few Blackcap appointment to the forest and a group of young Long-tailed Tits was recited. The dine was smoked salmon and potato cakes and a salad of Delphi. Mmmmmm
In the afternoon I’m starting at the top, the white streak in the distance is very close, but the car around 10 is a gorgeous beach overlooking Inishbofin. On the beach there were two pairs of Ringed Plover. It looked very threatening but escaped Weatherwise movement. This is to the south. How is this. This was to the north. were at sea he had swum a few feeding terns and a pair of Fantastic Northern Diver, who was very close to coast, but when I approached them a small. It was a huge beach and only had a couple of others on them. I reckon Michael Viney, who has a fantastic discourse in the Irish Times wrote on Saturday, and the themes of nature inspired, overlooking the beach. Lucky man. LED made my way back to Delphi, and with my long lens to see if I could get better catches of Sandpiper. When I approached the rocky journey, where he had seen the day before the two were very insistent call, and I wonder if it’s me that his condition was caused. So I left them and the noise was so terrible, so I crawled back and was wondering what was happening. Both were only a few feet away and you travel a few feet below the intersection of land and demand all the time. I did not see the chicks and assumed it was something to do if suddenly there appeared a thought about two meters away from the birds and go back under the rock. This lasted until the birds close to the other side of river. At one top, the birds were only a foot from mink and thought it was certainly a excellent game. At this top, the two birds flying. A few minutes later I saw a mink has this grave and shot him with an eel. I mistakenly had become ISO Auto, to have this vaccine at 1600 ISO and a camera 40D is very high. The mink swam the river mostly underwater. Beach running back, but the call came to restore to flying. Seemed to glide just hovering over the fill up nearly in a. Then I saw bubbles on the go up and thought bugger the mink is back. But this time, two otters floating in the river and river corridors followed them closely. I could not believe what I saw. The only shots he received were the otter, as they appear in the head and tail under fill up were not a fantastic viewing experience. After the otters departed around the bend of the river, the birds returned and have been asking about, so I went to the car and thought I would glide one on the street, overlooking the rocky marriage to turn the clock . When I went there was a bird in the middle of the street before they walked to the edge. This image was taken from the car. I saw going on there for a further five minutes and the other bird landed on the embankment. At this top, shortly before the clock was 08 and when dinner time I head again. I thought that the mink had been beaten, probably, the chick at this stage, and then back to the car that had a last look and went this girl walked the path along the river. ” I went to dinner at a pleased man. The meal was followed with a excellent boot white asparagus, prosciutto and Parmesan cheese with a steak and a light lemon mousse PUD tasty. Brillon Sunday morning was again was gorgeous and I chose to try for some shots of Bear before breakfast. What was incredible was the fact that it was warm and very still and the mosquitoes were horrendous. First I want to hear this, Willow Warbler calling from a small gorse bush and had a huge mouth full of bugs. The Bear had seen the day before I was half a mile away, but I was lucky to find one within a few hundred meters on the opposite bank. He flew nearly as soon as he approached. I have the next shot from in the rear some bushes beating. My preference is for the bottom, while flying the small tributary and was trapped in the sunlight. I want to thank at this top of the mantle Peter for his generosity during the weekend.
